McLaren Completes Phase 1 Of Dulwich College

We would like to congratulate McLaren on the completion of Phase 1 of The Laboratory at Dulwich College.

Designed by architects Grimshaw, McLaren beat off its competitors 2013 and was appointed to both construct the new facility and complete all mechanical, electrical and public health installations. It began on phase one of a state-of-the-art Science building in January 2014 where a long-term sustainable energy solution is a key factor. The work includes two energy boreholes and an open loop ground source cooling system

At a cost of over £21m this new landmark will house 18 laboratories and the James Caird Exhibition Hall, showcasing Sir Ernest Shackleton’s lifeboat. It will be the first major project of a ten-year development plan which will see a transformed campus by 2019 the 400th Anniversary of the College’s foundation.

The commitment to the new building many believe is a measure of the commitment of the Governors of Dulwich College to the holistic education of its pupils. It will represent a melting pot od Science and Art.

Guards from Safe Security Solutions were proud to be part of the team and covered the project over the Christmas period and the last 6 weeks whilst the site was closing down and finalising. We were able to see the success of the team and would like to thank McLaren for our participation.
